Licenciado en Biología por la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), Michoacán, México. Maestro en Ciencias con orientación en Acuicultura por el Centro de Investigación Científica y Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE), Baja California, México. Doctorado en ciencias con orientación en Acuicultura por el Centro de Investigación en Alimentación y Desarrollo (CIAD), Sinaloa, México. Pertenece al Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI) del CONAHCYT, siendo actualmente nivel 1.

Autor de más de 30 artículos científicos en revistas arbitradas e indexadas (JCR), tres capítulos de libro y dos libros. Es arbitro en revistas de investigación como Aquaculture, Journal of Fish Diseases, LAJAR, entre otras. Ha sido responsable y colaborador en mas de 10 proyectos de investigación, participado en más de 30 eventos académicos a nivel nacional e internacional.

Desde 2015 ha formado estudiantes de licenciatura, maestría y doctorado en clases enfocadas a la línea de Fisiopatología y de sanidad acuícola. Además de ser tutor de mas de 10 estudiantes de la licenciatura de biotecnología en acuacultura de la Facultad de Ciencias Marinas de la UABC.

Sus investigaciones se centran en los estudios fisiopatológicos relacionados con la nutrición y fisiología desde el punto de vista de salud e inmunomodulación de peces y camarones, así como en los factores de estrés biótico y abiótico que repercuten en la sanidad acuícola.

Resume

Dr. del Río got his Bachelor's in Biology from the Michoacana University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), Michoacán, Mexico. Master of Science with an emphasis on Aquaculture from the Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education of Ensenada (CICESE), Baja California, Mexico. Doctorate in Science with an emphasis on Aquaculture from the Center for Research in Food and Development (CIAD), Sinaloa, Mexico. He belongs to the National System of Researchers (SNI) of CONAHCYT, currently level 1. He is the author of more than 30 scientific manuscripts in peer-reviewed and indexed journals (JCR), three book chapters, and two books. He is a referee in research journals such as Aquaculture, Journal of Fish Diseases, and LAJAR, among others. He has been responsible and a collaborator in more than 10 research projects, participating in more than 30 academic events at national and international levels. Since 2015, he has trained undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students in Pathophysiology and Aquaculture Health classes within nutrition. In addition, he is a tutor for more than 10 students with a Bachelor's degree in Aquaculture Biotechnology at the Faculty of Marine Sciences at UABC. His research focuses on pathophysiological studies related to nutrition and physiology from the point of view of health and immunomodulation of fish and shrimp, as well as on biotic and abiotic stress factors that impact aquaculture health.
